but if you are changing colors it will take fewer coats to finish it…expecially if you are going from a very light to dark or vise versa.

sand trim? if the trim paint is originally latex based then no u dont have to latex grips to latex. but if its oil based or other materials like very smooth metal then yes u should sand

Great often overlooked suggestion. You have to scuff the surface on trim before you apply paint! Just like he said!

Oh I just showed my husband this. he never sanded & our paint all pealed off. Now we have to do every door frame. All the doors were a mess so we bought new doors.
