Try having a cut pot of water and a wet rag with you when you caulk so you can wipe your fingers clean. To try to rub out a door casing smooth with a caulk buildup on your fingers, is counter productive. Rubbing caulk on your shirt or pants is not a good move either! You can easily rinse out your rag when you get too much caulk on it with the nearby cut pot, or bucket, filled with warm water. This is a timesaver!
