When it’s time to paint the exterior of your house, a few tricks can make a big difference. To keep your paint brush clean and to extend the life of the brush, dip the paint brush in water first, remove the excess water and then dip the brush in your paint. This makes cleaning the brush afterwards much easier. Also, pour your paint into another container. Don’t dip use the original can or you will have a build up of dry paint by the end of the day on the lip of the can and you won’t get a good seal on the paint. Make sure after you pour paint into your container, you wipe off the excess paint from the can and use a paper towel folded up to clean out the groove of the can. If you are using two colors on the exterior of your house, paint the siding first then the trim. This way, you will have crisp, sharp lines on the trim. These tips will save your equipment and make your paint job look as professional as can be
